Give families the tools, skills and opportunities to earn their own income and build greater financial security.

For millions of families, hard work isn’t the problem. The opportunity to earn is.

A lack of jobs, start-up funds, equipment or access to markets can leave families struggling to cover food, education, healthcare and everyday household costs.

Our Sustainable Livelihoods programs help people turn their existing skills and ideas into reliable sources of income, giving families a practical way to support themselves.

How Your Donation Helps

Your support helps people build livelihoods that can continue long after the project ends.

Depending on local needs and opportunities, our programs can provide:

  • Small Business Support
Start-up capital, equipment and resources to help people establish or grow small businesses.
  • Livestock & Agriculture
Livestock, farming inputs and practical support that help rural households generate food and income.
  • Skills & Training
Business planning, bookkeeping and vocational skills that help participants manage and grow their income.
  • Tools & Equipment
The practical tools people need to turn an existing skill into a source of work.

From Support to Self-Reliance

A livelihood provides more than an income.

It can mean groceries bought with your own earnings. School costs paid on time. Medicine when someone gets sick. Savings for the next difficult month.

Instead of providing temporary assistance alone, Sustainable Livelihoods helps families build the means to support themselves.
