For a child who has lost one or both parents, that support can become much harder to access. The loss of a parent can place pressure on everything around them, from food and schooling to healthcare, protection and emotional wellbeing.
Through Penny Appeal’s orphan sponsorship program, your support helps provide consistent care for children who need it most.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“I and the one who looks after an orphan will be like this in Paradise.”
He then held his index and middle fingers together.

Funds are used across essential areas of a child’s care, helping ensure their needs are supported consistently rather than through one-off assistance alone.
Depending on the country and program, support may include education, food, healthcare, protection, shelter and caregiver support.
Sponsorship funding is allocated through Penny Appeal’s orphan programs according to the needs of the children in our care.

Penny Appeal supports orphan programs across a number of countries, including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Palestine/Gaza, South Africa and Myanmar. Locations can change according to need and program capacity.
Some orphan support may be Zakat eligible where the child or household meets the relevant Islamic criteria. If you are giving Zakat, select the appropriate Zakat option so your donation can be allocated correctly.
