Myanmar’s Central Dry Zone is one of the country’s most water-stressed regions. Prolonged drought, falling groundwater levels and damage to water infrastructure following the March 2025 earthquake have made reliable water increasingly difficult to access.
For families living in affected communities, water shortages reach into almost every part of daily life, from having enough to drink and cook with, to washing and maintaining basic household hygiene.
Our Thirst Relief project is working to establish 60 new water sources for communities with limited or unreliable access to clean water.
