On the 27th night of Ramadan—a night many spent in worship and preparing for iftar—a catastrophic 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar. It was followed just minutes later by a powerful 6.4 aftershock and 28 smaller quakes. What was meant to be a sacred night of peace turned into devastation and despair.
Families who had gathered in mosques are now pulling loved ones from rubble.
Parents preparing meals for iftar are now burying their children.

💔 At least 270 reported dead in Mandalay alone.

The majority of casualties have occurred in Mandalay, Sagaing, Naypyidaw, and Bago, with fires, collapsed buildings, and widespread infrastructure destruction leaving communities in complete crisis.
