Myanmar Earthquake Emergency Response

A devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on March 28, 2025

On the 27th night of Ramadan—a night of peace and reflection—Myanmar was rocked by a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake, followed shortly by a 6.4 aftershock and 28 more tremors. As families gathered in mosques for Jummah prayers and prepared for Iftar, their lives were shattered in seconds.

Instead of breaking their fasts, many are now searching for loved ones, pulling bodies from rubble, and mourning martyrs.

  • 270 deaths in Mandalay alone, with thousands more injured and missing
