Donate to Lebanon

The families and children of Lebanon are currently facing one of the worst economic crises. Food shotages are at an all time high and and our Lebanese brothers and sisters lack access to basic necessities.

A Country on The Brink of Collapse

Lebanon has been hit by compounded crises. An economic and financial crisis, followed by COVID-19, and the Beirut Explosion in late 2020. These crises have led to food and petrol shortages that have left the Lebanese people literally in the dark.

This year’s winter season was one of the harshest the country has ever seen. Lebanon is home to 6.8 million people, including 1.5 million Syrian refugees, and unfortunately, the poorest and most vulnerable are the hardest hit by these unbearable living conditions.

Donate to Lebanon

People in Lebanon are suffering, and they need our help. With an economic crisis that’s only been exacerbated by the pandemic and the 2020 explosion at Port Beirut, the people of Lebanon are in need of support. It is all of our duties as Muslims and as people to help those in need, so do your part by donating to Penny Appeal Australia. We are a charity with Muslim values, but we support people regardless of religion, race or nationality. We identify where we are needed and have multiple campaigns and appeals to ensure we can do as much good as possible. As a charity that vows to always be transparent and operate ethically, we are the best way to donate to Lebanon.

Australia Donation to Lebanon – What is Happening in Lebanon?

The situation in Lebanon is dire. Apart from the catastrophic impact of the pandemic and the 2020 explosion, the most severe problem facing Lebanon is the financial crisis. In fact, the crisis is so serious that it’s likely in the top ten, or even top three, of most severe financial crises since the mid-1800s. Inflation is in the triple digits, the currency is losing value, and banks have stopped lending. This has a devastating impact on the people in Lebanon. Small and medium-sized businesses are heavily impacted, with many going under completely. Unemployment is rising steadily. It’s likely that half of Lebanon’s population is now living below the poverty line. There are also severe shortages of critical resources like fuel and medication, which leads to frequent blackouts across the country, and a lack of medical care for many who need it. Lack of appropriate medical care is of course even more devastating in a pandemic. You can make a positive impact by giving a donation to Lebanon through Penny Appeal Australia.

Donation to Lebanon – What You Can Do to Help?

Penny Appeal Australia is not a specialized Islamic charity organisations in Australia; we go where we are needed and provide the necessary support. Our work in Lebanon is centred around supporting the most vulnerable communities and providing them with the resources they need, including medical care, food and fuel. When disaster strikes, we are there, and we were on the ground offering critical support after the horrific explosion in 2020. But our work does not stop there. The explosion continues to have lasting effects even beyond Beirut, and the financial situation is dire. We take small amounts of money and use it to make a big difference, but we would be helpless without our supporters. You can help the Lebanese people. Donate to Lebanon through Penny Appeal Australia.

MORE ON THE SITUATION

Hundreds of thousands of people are at risk as Lebanon’s already stretched health and economic infrastructure struggles to cope with all that the country is facing.

More families, including the elderly, vulnerable women, and children, face homelessness and starvation as prices for basic necessities continue to skyrocket.

Before the Beirut explosion, the country was experiencing widespread poverty with almost half of the population living below the poverty line. The growing spread of COVID-19 has not helped.

Please help empower local families, and support local hospitals!

How You Can Help

Penny Appeal Australia is distributing food, clean water, and COVID-19 hygiene kits in Lebanon to locals and refugees.

We’re also looking to restore shelter to keep the most vulnerable people made homeless by the blast and the recent economic changes, out of harm’s way, especially during this blessed month of Ramadan.

Your donations are life-saving to the people of Lebanon in their hour of greatest need.
Every single penny counts.

Use your Zakat and Sadaqah to save lives this Ramadan.

Will you give Allah “A Beautiful Loan?” (Quran 2:245).
