Meet the Team

The Penny Appeal way of doing things is simple.
We take your small change and make a big differnece.

Mohamed Mayat

CEO

Mayat brings more than fifteen years of development experience to Penny Appeal Australia having supported the execution of various projects around the world including Africa, South East Asia and the Middle East.

Having helped found and establish the Penny Appeal Australia office, he is a dedicated leader to our team and donors and is always excited to work with our implementing partners to ensure that we’re true to our word for the sake of our donors “Small change. Big difference”.

Mohammad Kandil

Manager

MK spent the last seven years managing marketing campaigns and developing and conceptualising digital products for local and international NGO’s.

Alongside spearheading Digital Marketing & Advertising at Penny Appeal Australia, MK loves all things tech, has a (not so hidden) passion for aquaculture and is a dedicated quarterly juice cleanser.

Aamon Sayed

Volunteer Coordinator

A Western Sydney Native, Aamon comes to Penny Appeal after years of dedicated service to the community as a youth worker and counsellor.

His bubbly nature and love for marvel comics makes him the perfect fit within the Penny Appeal fam but it’s his big heart and uber positive attitude that makes him the go to person for all things development and team orange. Outside the office, you can find Aamon playing video games, collecting quirky tees, and riding his motorcycle

Jasmin Ghandour

Marketing Coordinator

Jas started her career in operations and marketing within the commercial sector working for fashion brands such as Coach, Lacoste and Ben Sherman but decided to take the non-profit path. She’s held a variety of roles within the non-profit sector, overseeing major campaigns, digital strategies, production and people. Today, she serves as a staple within the communications team. When she’s not talking about all things Penny Appeal, Jasmin can be found either behind the lens, on Netflix or searching for the perfect gluten free pasta recipe.

Abdullah Sayad

Creative Designer

Abdullah is originally from Norway, but moved to Sydney eight years ago on a whim. When he wasn’t busting a move on stage with niko and vinz, he spent his hours over the past fifteen years designing for companies ranging from small start ups to well known organisations and companies within Australia like Australia’s Labour Party, Crescent Wealth and LJ Hooker before joining Penny Appeal as our visionary aka Senior Creative Designer.

Dena Abdelfatah

Corporate Fundraiser

Dena grew up in Sydney. She studied nursing, but her passion for understanding people and the community led her toward more volunteering and activism. She’s travelled around the world and served as a health specialist before following her passion and joining our Development Team.
