What is Qurban?
Qurban or Qurbani means sacrifice. The whole process of Udhhiya/Qurban commemorates Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) and how he was willing to obey Allah’s orders and sacrifice his son Ismail (PBUH) for Allah’s. Allah spared Ibrahim from slaughtering his son and instead sent an animal to be slaughtered in his place. It is for that reason, Muslims around the world commemorate this event by sacrificing animals (cow, sheep, goat, camel..) in the month of Dhul Hijjah.
Why choose Penny Appeal Australia to donate your Qurban?
In 2022, Penny Appeal Australia is sending our team members from Australia to ensure the best quality Qurban is sourced from local farmers and distributed to people in need in more than 10 countries.
By donating your Qurban through us, you will be helping local farmers and reviving the economy in poverty-stricken nations. This will also guarantee that the sacrifice is carried out according to Islamic rulings from the time of slaughter till the time of distribution. Your Qurban is distributed fresh on the day of Eid.
Is Qurban sacrifice obligatory?
Sacrificing Qurban is an obligatory act of worship for Muslims who are financially able to do so. Donating your Qurban with Penny Appeal Australia will enable vulnerable families and children to enjoy a healthy, protein-packed meal this Eid. Most of these families haven’t enjoyed meat in months or even a year’s time.
When must I pay Qurban?
Qurban must be paid by the sunset of the last day of Eid Ul-Adha. Penny Appeal Australia will conduct Qurban sacrifices for the entire 4 days of Eid. However, it is preferable that you pay your Qurban early as it helps us manage the number of animals needed for the sacrifice insh’Allah.
More than just a SACRIFICE
Everyone deserves a Nutritious Meal on Eid! Donate Your Qurban Today.
Can I donate Qurban on someone else’s behalf?
Yes, you can donate Qurban on behalf of your spouse, children and deceased family members.
Why you should give an extra Qurban
The Prophet (PBUH) used to sacrifice two animals on the days of Eid al-Adha. In addition to his obligatory sacrifice, the Prophet (PBUH) also sacrificed an animal on behalf of someone from the Ummah who could not afford to sacrifice an animal.
The Prophet (saw) sacrificed for the one who could not sacrifice from his Ummah, one who bore witness to the Oneness of Allah and [his] Prophethood.(Ahmad)
What is the Reward of giving Qurban?
Qurban or Udhiya as it is known in Arabic is not simply the slaughtering of an animal and the distribution of its meat. The word ‘Qurban’ is derived from the Arabic root word ‘qurb’ – meaning ‘nearness’. Therefore, the purpose of offering the Qurban is to draw near to Allah SWT.
How Your Qurban is helping millions!
For millions, Eid al-Adha is the only time of year they can benefit from nutritious meals with meat. Your Qurban goes first and foremost to widows and orphans, and will also be distributed to vulnerable families and refugees in war-torn communities.
The more Qurban people give, the more people we are able to feed on the days of Eid. Therefore, feed more hungry families by giving a second Qurban and follow the sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH)!

What are the virtues of the 10 days of Dhul Hijjah?
Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” The people asked, “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said, “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause and came back with nothing.” (Bukhari)
Allah swore by those 10 days as many scholars say the verse “ By the Dawn (prayer), and the 10 Nights” (Quran 89:1-2) refers to these blessed 10 days.
